These 49 lofts are one of our favorite projects downtown. The developer, Michael Lander, won the 2003 National Builders’ Association “Grand Award” for lofts for this transformation of the 1909 printing warehouse. It is a pleasing blend of an authentic loft (loft meaning: warehouse conversion with high ceilings, concrete floors, oversized windows & exposed ductwork) with the amenities of a contemporary building.
Open, flexible spaces designed around a central block of the kitchen & baths. This central design is surrounded by open spaces, massive bell columns & lots of natural light created by 65 percent window-to-wall ratios. Floor plans range from 984 to 1853 s.ft. There are 9-foot to 12-foot ceilings. Some lofts are 2-level and have 2 entrances.
Ninth Street Lofts are in St. Paul’s Wacouta Commons neighborhood – the Downtown buildings that surround Wacouta Commons Park. There also is a smaller green space nestled between the 9th Street Lofts building and the historic First Baptist Church, which was built in 1874.
